GREE Enables Donations For Japan Earthquake Relief Through In-SNS Purchases

A 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck about 240 miles northeast of Tokyo on Friday, March 11, the strongest ever recorded in Japan, and one of the largest anywhere in the last century. The quake triggered a destructive tsunami that swept over cities and farmland. The death toll is rising and thousands are missing. We sincerely feel sympathy for everyone who is suffering from this devastating earthquake. 

GREE launched a fund-raising effort on March 12 to assist those who are suffering from the earthquake and tsunami by enabling SNS donations via GREE’s network. As of March 13, GREE has collected almost 1.5 million dollars from over 600,000 users. We will update you as this evolves.

We are planning on a US donation site, so for those who are interested in helping Japan, we will make announcements as soon as possible.
